Welcome - Learn, laugh and live with Hawkhurst u3a
Thank you for your interest in Hawkhurst u3a, the University of the Third Age. The Third Age follows the First Age of childhood dependence and the Second Age of employment and parental responsibility. Retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery!
Anyone may join the u3a; no qualifications are required or given, and there is no age limit. Members share their skills and life experiences: the learners teach and the teachers learn, with no distinction between them. We all share our educational, creative and leisure experiences with other like-minded people.
We are all volunteers, and we support our Members in forming Interest Groups in a diverse range of subjects from Book Club to Wine Appreciation. We have over 35 Interest Groups to choose from or you may like to start another group to suit your interests. We hope there is something to interest everyone so why not check out our Groups page?
Of equal importance is the social side of Hawkhurst u3a. Coffee & Cake mornings and Pub Lunches are regular events, as well as gatherings such as a Winter Quiz or Summer Garden Party. Check out the Events page for further details.

Our membership list is growing all the time; we now have over 300 members. We hope that you will join the Hawkhurst u3a, either by getting in touch with our Membership Secretary, by email from the Contact page. They could send you an introductory pack.
All of this only costs £18 this year, so why not give it a try?
