The Psychology Group will be restarting on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays in the month in September.
This course of 48 half hour lectures is a grand sweep through the "GREAT IDEAS OF PSYCHOLOGY". It examines the conceptual and historical foundations, the methods, the major findings, and the dominant perspectives in psychology. The subject is vast, covering topics such as psychology's ancient foundations, witchery (witches and witchcraft), sensation and perception, learning and memory, Pavlov and the Conditioned Reflex, Piaget's theory of cognitive development, language and the brain, psychopathology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Freud, Intelligence, and much more. It will be fine to dip in and out of the course and still get a lot out of it - the list of lectures will be available from Week One. As well as watching the lecture there will be time to informally discuss the content.
We have 15 members and new members are always welcome. Members each contribute £2 for use of the room and a tea/coffee.
When:- 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 2:15pm
