In our group we like to get out into our wonderful Wealden countryside and spend a day on some longer walks (around 6 – 10 miles). If you’d like to join us for some fresh air, great scenery and good company, you would be made most welcome. Individual walks are lead by group members on an ad hoc basis. Please call or email Sue (07867 913857) or Anne if you plan to join any walk.
Our yearly walkers lunch when we join up with the ‘short walkers’ is a 5 mile walk around Westfield. We shall start and finish at the New Inn which is in the main street. There is a car park at the rear of the pub, quite small so it would be a good idea to car share — I will leave it to you to organise yourself on that one. I have reserved the table for 1pm. I need to know before Christmas — 1) If you are coming and if you are — 2) what your menu choice is — the menu is attached. Any drinks you pay for at the bar and I will collect the money for the lunch either on the day or before hand since they will only present one bill. We will have to leave the pub for our walk at 10.00am. Look forward to hearing from you. It is nice to meet up with everyone and I hope you are able to support this event.
Next walk will be on Thursday 12 December. It is from Mayfield to Rotherfield and back — approximately 10 miles. We will meet in the carpark behind the ‘Middle House’ in the main street in Mayfield. It is sign posted and is quite a narrow entrance just past the pub as pass it on the left. Meet at 9.45am — Let me know if you are coming.
